Frequently Asked Questions

Process. Pricing. Approach and More.

Custom home costs in Asheville vary widely based on design, size, site conditions, materials, and level of finish. Because every home we build is fully custom, we don’t use blanket pricing or averages. Instead, we focus on understanding your goals early and aligning scope, budget, and expectations before construction begins. This approach helps clients avoid surprises and make confident decisions throughout the process.

We use an open-book, cost-plus pricing model. That means clients see actual costs for labor, materials, and subcontractors, along with a clearly defined builder’s fee. There are no hidden markups or padded numbers, just real costs and full transparency. This model allows flexibility as design decisions evolve and helps maintain trust from start to finish.

No. We don’t offer fixed-price packages or tiered build options. Custom homes, commercial projects, and millwork are all driven by design choices and finishes. Rather than forcing projects into preset pricing tiers, we tailor scope and budget collaboratively so the final result reflects your priorities.

Custom home timelines depend on project complexity, permitting, material availability, and site conditions. In general, custom homes take longer than production builds due to the level of detail involved. We focus on realistic scheduling, steady progress, and clear communication rather than rushing important steps. Once design and scope are finalized, we provide a clear project timeline and keep clients informed throughout construction.

Early involvement helps ensure design intent carries through construction efficiently and reduces costly revisions later. We’re happy to work with your existing design team or recommend trusted partners in the Asheville area.

Our work includes restaurants, cafés, offices, yoga studios, and mixed-use spaces many located in downtown Asheville. These projects often require tight coordination, durable materials, and attention to detail due to daily public use.

All of our cabinetry and millwork is completed in-house.

This allows us to maintain control over craftsmanship, detailing, and schedule without relying on third-party trim carpenters. The result is cleaner execution and better alignment between design and construction.

We focus on building science rather than certifications.

Our approach emphasizes airtight construction, energy efficiency, clean indoor air, and long-term durability. Sustainability is built into how our homes perform, not added later as a label.
